PROFESSORS:

I would like to conduct a guest lecture for your upcoming classes. I was a student in the first class to integrate a South Carolina all “white” high school in the 1960s. As a first generation African American college graduate, and one of only five students to graduate from this high school, my inspiring lectures allows students to garner life principles of innate resilience by hearing background, struggles, and victories from one who participated in this historical process. My lectures may be conducted in one or multiple sessions, and specific lecture topics may be combined and framed to fit course themes. As you finalize your syllabus, consider the inclusion of my revealing lecture.

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”
